Who We Are

Wilmette Theatre Education Project is a not-for-profit organization initiated in the Fall of 2007 to promote the visual and performing arts and make them available to all populations regardless of age, race, income or ability.

WTEP GOALS

The goal of WTEP is to provide a variety of opportunities to experience, explore, and connect with the arts through performances, classes and educational workshops.

WTEP is for residents of Chicago, the North Shore suburbs, and it's collar counties. The target populations include those that are inherently at risk and underserved: youth, the disadvantaged, and the elderly. To accomplish this mission, the WTEP group formed an Executive Board of Directors in April 2008, which successfully applied for incorporation.

Debbie Reynolds:America's Sweetheart

Although she was sweet and adorable in films, Debbie Reynolds had to be tough to survive unusual personal situations. From her impoverished early background, to the financial and emotional upheaval of her three disappointing marriages, Debbie kept a smile on her face while she entertained others. Utilizing film clips, video clips, and narration, this multimedia program is complete with highlights of her personal and professional life, and explores how Debbie Reynolds became a great star.

Frank Loesser was no one-trick pony. Besides "Guys and Dolls," he wrote several other successful musicals — "Where's Charley?", "The Most Happy Fella", and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"—as well as a number of hit songs in his earlier life as a Hollywood lyricist. Charles Troy will fill in the Loesser chronology in this multimedia presentation, and you'll hear lots of delightful and familiar songs, filled with humor and heart.

An intergenerational salute to Irving Berlin...with a showcase of talented seniors joined by gifted junior performers. Featuring Take Note, 2010 Illinois top ranking senior barbershop quartet, and Tecora Rogers, internationally known jazz/gospel cabaret artist and television host.
