Side Mullet Nation

A ONE WOMAN SHOW STARRING CAMERON ESPOSITO

SIDE MULLET NATION was a Critics' Pick in Time Out New York, Time Out Chicago, and the Chicago Reader and was also named Best of the Fest at the Just For Laughs Festival 2011 by the Onion's AV Club!

Just your average asymmetrically haired punk rock standup comic & circus ringmaster, roller derby commentator, and atheist with a theology degree, Cameron Esposito lives at the heart of Chicago's alt arts scene.  SIDE MULLET NATION is a storytelling show filled with snapshot-like moments of improbability, huge failure, and tiny success.  Since its debut as a production of TBS' 2011 TBS Just for Laughs Chicago Festival, SIDE MULLET NATION has had critically acclaimed runs at The Playground Theatre and The Comedy Bar, both in Chicago, and at New York's UCB Theatre.

Known for her "effervescent storytelling" (The AV Club), Cameron also acts as ringmaster for Chicago-based touring circus company El Circo Cheapo Cabaret, and created and teaches the world's only all-female standup course, The Feminine Comique.  Cameron was nominated for Best Female Comic at the Chicago Comedy Awards, won Chicago's 2008 Snubfest competition, and has been featured at Just for Laughs Chicago and the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival and Leicester (UK) Comedy Festivals as well as on NBC, WGN, the LOGO network, Sirius Satellite Radio and on NPR's "The Sound of Young America." Cameron's debut album, "Grab Them Aghast" was recently released and launched on iTunes in 2010.

The Show Biz Kids From Hell!; musical comedy duo starring Wild Chicago's Emmy-award winning Dick O'Day and Singer Spotlight showcase creator Becca Kaufman present The Show Biz Kids: 20 Years of the Trailer Park of Cabaret!.  This show is a celebration of the 20 years the duo have spent together onstage creating “the best of the worst” and “the worst of the best” in musical cabaret.  The show will highlight the duo’s “greatest hits” – from the hilarious to the hilariously fabu-lush – everything from their infamous “rock-n-roll medley” to an homage to TV theme songs, a medley of the worst million sellers, disco (natch), the 80s (get out your headbands), and of course, an Abba medley.  The non-stop, mixed assortment of “medleys for days,” a Show Biz Kids signature is interspersed with the occasional heart tugging ballad sung by vocal sensation Kaufman who currently is thrilling bridal parties up and down the North Shore and the hinterlands with her vibrant Becca Kaufman Orchestra.  But there’s a lot more than medleys and ballads when the Show Biz Kids take to the stage – every performance includes their patented segments – Mystery Karaoke, The Raffle from Hell (prizes MUST be taken home), and more.  Hell, in honor of their 20 years of performing together, Dick and Becca just might even do a couple of new songs.  Lady Gaga, anyone?  Further information on The Show Biz Kids at www.dickoday.com

Like all relationships, this one is unscripted.

Lindsey Finn has been performing improv and sketch comedy in Chicago for the past five years. It is truly her life's passion and she considers herself incredibly blessed to be able to do so. Lindsey is especially lucky to be able to perform with her very dear friend, Derrick, in An Unscripted Romance. She thanks you for coming to see the show and hopes you enjoy it as much as she does.

Derrick Aguis has been improvising and directing for the past ten years. Derrick started his career at the University of Florida as a member of Theatre Strike Force where he performed at several festivals and venues all over the country. It is there where he met Lindsey. Five years ago Derrick moved to Chicago where he studied and graduated from Second City's Conservatory program, The Annoyance, and iO.. For the past 4 years Derrick has been a member of The Annoyance's Skinprov cast with Annoyance founder Mick Napier. Derrick has been an instructor at The Annoyance over the past 3 years and loves being on the other side of the program where he learned so much. Although Derrick is still active at Second City, he is a regular at The Annoyance, appearing in this show, An Unscripted Romance, Splatter Theater, Him & Her, Short Shorts, The Triple Feature, and The Apartment. He has also recently directed a show, Desperation: A Celebration at Second City.
