HAIR: The Musical!

Hair puts rock music and the culture that went with it on stage. The show has a strong effect on everyone, and acts as a bridge between generations and viewpoints. What looks like incredible chaos is actually organized chaos. Phenomenal musical numbers includeAquarius, Good Morning Starshine, I Believe in Love, Hair, I Got Life, What a Piece of Work Is Man and Hippie Life. This show has a vitality, a timelessness and a meaning that outlives the late 1960's and early 1970's in America.

Director: Janet Louer

"Janet – words cannot explain how  grateful we are for all that you do for Nicole. After I dropped her at your class today, I drove home thinking how unbelievably thankful I am that I signed her up for Acting the Song last year – and then of course your summer workshop (and all the great things that have followed). You have given Nicole such amazing direction, and it is due to you that she had such great opportunities. So again, I just want to thank you for taking the time and the interest in Nicole. She is at her happiest when she is with you and the Rep Co and the Wilmette Theater. Just know that I am forever appreciative of your efforts." -- PARENT Alexa Karkazis

"Janet Louer is the most gifted director I've ever seen for children. She is simply amazing at coaching the kids and keeping them in a productive mode. The three shows we've seen so far have left us in awe.The caliber of work created by the kids under Janet's direction is definitely at professional level."
"Janet has that amazing way of pulling things out of you you never knew you had. Her ability to see straight to the heart of the song is UNBELIEVABLE!"
"You learn 500 new things every Sunday with Janet."

"This was the best acting and singing class I've ever taken."
"Janet taught me to not show, but just be."
"In Sutton Foster’s words “to say this is a dream come true is an understatement. I have always loved musical theatre, and honestly didn’t think about acting. I knew it was in it, but I constantly believed it was just reading lines. You have made me realize so much! Just like Carol said on my first day “You will reach levels, you didn’t know you could reach with Janet. As I’ve been regularly telling people; you are a musical theatre goddess. It has been an incredible experience. You pushed all of us until we couldn’t go anymore. I now think of energies and effort actions all the time. Thank you so much Janet. You are a perfect instructor, there is NOTHING you can change to make yourself better, because I’m pretty sure that’s impossible! You are my new and greatest inspiration and role model. -- Julia S. Mates
