Have you ever had the dream of being an actor? Ever wanted to let loose, take risks, and strut your stuff on-stage, and on-camera? Or maybe you just need to get out the house? Your opportunity has arrived! You and your fellow "new-actors" will rehearse and perform scenes for the stage and the big screen. This courageous ensemble of "New- Actors" will screen their filmed scenes and perform their theatre scenes in front of a live audience of friends and family at the end of the term.
Musical theatre performances are made powerful due to the acting skills employed while singing. This class explores how to approach a song from an actor's point of view and fuse the music with the words. The actor will also discover what musical material suits them best. Final class is open to friends and family. Out of class work expected.
Students will hone their on-camera techniques, focusing on challenging commercial copy, film scripts and TV pilots. Students will work at the pace of level of a working professional actor using actual industry scripts. Class features a final class taught by Chicago Talent Agent (TBA).
Get out of your own way and embrace the skills you need to become a competitive actor. Moving from monologue to scene study, students will gain confidence in their work as an actor. Necessary for actors of all skill levels. Out of class work expected.

"I really had no idea what to expect when I walked in, but the combination of the teachers and material covered blew me away. This class provided me with so much information and guidance with respect to the business, film, and acting. I'm incredibly grateful that I was one of the lucky few to experience this wealth of knowledge, which wouldn't have been possible without you!"
"I don't think I've ever had so much information given to me about the business, and because of it, I walked out of there with a solid plan for my upcoming year in New York. I can't tell you how different I feel about my year now. Where I used to feel scared and overwhelmed, I feel considerably more confident and in control. The time I spent with you really proved to me that it's possible, provided you work, and work hard. I now have an even stronger desire to navigate the system, all thanks to you!"
