STAGE TO SCREEN - Making a Documentary Through Theatre

Description:
A unique summer program combining drama classes with on-camera filmmaking, designed for actors entering 2nd-8th grade. Students will train in improvisation, scene study, musical theatre, storytelling, acting for the camera, and writing workshops to generate a film documentary showcasing the students' work over the three weeks. The program culminates with a screening of the film on July 11th combined with a final live performance on the Wilmette Theatre Stage.

SCENE TO SCREEN - An Actor's Journey Through Filmmaking

Description:
Our two-week summer workshop is designed for the teen actor who is ready to roll up their sleeves and experience life as a professional film actor. Working with a carefully crafted short-film script, the student will spend the first week training on-camera, breaking down a script, finding their own truth in a scene, and learning how to be confident in their choices. Week two will find the student behind the camera and in front of the camera shooting the film on locations around Wilmette. The film will premiere at the Wilmette Theatre on August 3rd at 12 noon for invited family, friends and industry guests.

PERFORMANCE PLAYHOUSE WORKSHOP - Into The Woods

Description:
With unforgettable roles and no chorus parts, "Into The Woods" showcases a medium-sized ensemble of talented singers and actors, where each performer shoulders equal weight. The sophisticated score has been adapted, making it easier - though still challenging - for young performers. Using minimal sets and costumes the Performance Playhouse Workshop focuses on the actors' elements of the production: acting, singing, and dancing. The workshop will culminate in a full production presented for the public on August 1st at 6 PM.
