Class Description: Acting Through Imagination
Grade Level: 2nd - 5th Grade
Schedule: Sunday 12:15-2:15 PM

Description: This interactive class teaches young actors to embrace their imaginations by taking a journey through the greatest fairy-tales and classic stories of all time, brought to life through the magic of play! Students will learn acting methods through theater games, improvisation, and tackling the adventures faced by characters in timeless stories.

Price: $300 for 8-week Spring Session

Class Description: Perform Your Own Play
Grade Level: 5th - 8th Grade
Schedule: Sunday, 2:30-4:30 PM
Teacher: Tyler Beattie

Description: This class gives the older student a voice by asking - what do you want to create? Through improvisation, writing workshops, creative drama, music and dance, students will devise an original play to be performed as an ensemble on the Wilmette Theatre stage. Our class teaches students advanced acting techniques and the joy of creating and performing original theater with passion.

Class Description: Acting the Song
Grade Level: 4th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Sunday, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Instructor: Janet Louer

Description: Musical Theatre is so much more than just singing. The most powerful performances in Musical Theatre are so because of the acting involved. This class focuses on how to approach a song from an actor's point of view, then marry the music with the words. The student will learn how to discover what material suits them best. The last class will be open to friends and family to attend.

Class Description: Music Theater Scene Study
Grade Level: 4th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Sunday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Instructor: Janet Louer

Description: After completing Acting The Song the actor is ready for work on the scene text of a musical. Students will work on scenes from great musicals as if they were given the role in the play. A work-in-progress showcase for parents and friends will be presented at the end of the term on the Wilmette Theatre Stage.

Prerequisite: Acting the Song or by permission/audition only

Class Description: Improvisation
Grade Level: 9th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Saturday 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Description: Live theatre is exciting because anything can happen. This four week improvisation class will teach you how to think on your feet, react to your scene partners, expect the unexpected, and feel more comfortable living in the moment, using a variety of games and exercises that appeal to all levels of performance experience.

Price: $175 for 4-week Spring Session

Class Description: Meisner Technique
Grade Level: 9th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Saturday, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Teacher: Katherine Conditt-Ladd

Description: The foundation for success as an actor whether on stage or on camera comes from creating truthful behavior under imaginary circumstances. Sanford Meisner's approach is the simplest, most direct, least pretentious and most effective. This class is designed to help the teenage actor break through boundaries, take risks and experience emotional freedom in their work.

May 3 - May 31st (No class May 24th)

Class Description: On-Camera Technique
Grade Level: 9th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Saturday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Teacher: Doug McDade

Description: Find out what works and what doesn't on camera. This class is designed to give an overview of the art of acting for the camera using commercial, film and sitcom scripts. The student will learn what skills and techniques are needed to compete for film and commercial roles. This is a fun, no pressure class, a great place to begin.

Price: $175 for 4-week Spring Session

Class Description: Scene Study
Grade Level: 9th - 12th Grade
Schedule: Saturday 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Teacher: Doug McDade

Description: Scene Study examines the techniques imperative to truthful work and building relationships by asking who, what, when, where, and why? This class teachers an actor how to break down a scene, make specific choices that are critical for honest work. Students will be assigned specific scenes tailored to them as actors. On the last day of class, parents will be invited to a showcase of the students' work.
