ACTOR NEEDED for Staged Reading

Young actor (high school aged, or can play high school aged) needed for staged reading on Tuesday, March 4th.  There will be a rehearsal on Monday evening, and an additional rehearsal this weekend to be determined based on availability. 

The play is a drama about a guy who comes back to his small town to reconnect with his best friend from high school, who he hasn't heard from in years. It alternates between high school and the present and someone is needed to play the high school version of the protagonist.

Skokie's Devonshire Playhouse is now casting actors, 14-25, for the lead role of Conrad Birdie in the teen production of Bye, Bye Birdie. The show is fully cast, expect for the lead, who must be a mature teen or young adult with a good singing voice.

Time Commitment: 
Performances will be April 5 and 12 at 7 p.m. and April 6 & 13at 3 p.m.

Comedy Troupe Auditions at ATC!!! February 2nd from 3-5pm.

 

I'm looking for the best writers and performers yes, but more importantly I'm looking for a group that will work best together. Make each other look good with little to no problems. So, please sign up! This is going to be amazing!

 

Prerequisites- You must have taken Short Form Improv, Long Form Improv and Sketch Comedy prior to Auditioning for Comedy Troupe.

ATTENTION PLAYWRIGHTS!

The Actors Training Center is seeking play submissions for its 2nd Biannual Ten Minute Play Festival. 
 
We are seeking NEW 10-MINUTE PLAYS that give voice to the teenage experience. Our goal is to provide young actors with 7th-12th grade appropriate materials and characters.  Submissions may be dramatic or comedic. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ONLY SOLICITING MATERIAL WITH 3 OR MORE ROLES.  Scripts previously submitted in the last year will be considered—please do not resend.
 
The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 31st. Selection will take place by February 14th. 
 
Chosen scripts will be workshopped by select ATC students during a 9-week course, Sundays 6:15-9:15pm, February 9 to April 13.  The Ten Minute Play Festival will take place on Sunday, April 13th at the Wilmette Theatre, home of the Actors Training Center.  There may be the opportunity for occasional playwright involvement in the workshop/development process.
 
Submissions should be directed to ATC Education Administrator, Becky Blomgren at Becky@actorstrainingcenter.com no later than Friday, January 31st.

What we are looking for:
Boys that are age 9 – 13 years old, less than 5ft. tall
Proficient tap dancing skills
Strong singing ability as well
 
Rehearsal Commitment
Start January 10th 
Weekend day and after school rehearsal
Tech would be the only time this might change- Stage Management does the best they can to work around schedules but it is hard to predict
 
Performance Commitment
First Preview- 2/6/14
Opening- 2/13/14
Closing- 3/23/14
Performances Tuesday- Sunday
After opening, actors may leave following their final scene in Act I
